The stadium officially opened on August 31, 2012, with a match between the defending Texas 5A state champions Southlake Carroll Dragons and the Allen Eagles. Allen dominated the game with a shutout victory, witnessed by a record capacity crowd of 22,000, including 4,000 in overflow seating. This inaugural event marked a significant moment for the Eagles, who had never previously defeated the Dragons.
